Mercado offers a full range of Mexican food products, rooted in Mexico’s food culture and made with bold flavour. We developed the brand identity and packaging to express that authenticity and attitude across a diverse portfolio.

THE CHALLENGE

Make Mexican authenticity visible.

The design needed to communicate Mercado’s cultural roots and the appetite appeal of its food, while giving a broad range of products a recognisable place within one brand.

The challenge was to create a system with enough consistency to build recognition and enough flexibility to accommodate the variety of the offer.

THE IDEA

The energy of a Mexican marketplace.

We drew on the atmosphere of a lively marketplace: colour, texture and an abundance of flavour.

That became the creative foundation for a brand designed to feel generous, expressive and full of life, connecting the range through a shared visual language.

Sun-soaked colours and textured packaging carry the marketplace idea through the identity and onto the products.

The system gives individual products their own presence while holding them together as Mercado. Across the range, it brings the brand’s character into the everyday experience of choosing, preparing and sharing Mexican food.
